7th Science Classes make Lizard Families

7th grade Science classes have been studying genetics and one of their final projects was to create a lizard family.  Students determined their lizard’s genotypes/phenotypes and then created their own lizard.  Next, they collaborated with a partner to determine all the genotype possibilities for their offspring and rolled a 4-sided die to determine what traits their baby lizard would have.  Finally they created their baby lizard and made a Lizard Family poster. This project required communication and collaboration with others, critical thinking, and creativity and showed how here at CD Fulkes, we are all part of one Lizard Family!
